Reflection Week 6

23/8/10

Today we watched as Angga and Rama's group redid their project. On the down side, we wasted time for us to go to instrument class. That was bad, as usual. On the bright side, their performance was actually pretty good. Plus, clicking slides is fun. Rama and Angga's rendition of Two is Better than One is pretty nice. It was a duet, and Angga handled the backing vocals while Rama took lead. As usual, we only had a little time for instrument class. Oh well, im used to it by now.

26/8/10

Today 3 groups redone their presentation to get higher groups. Once again, the amount of people that wanted redos made instrument class limited. I still think that sucks. Anyway, we opened with Linden's presentation, which was good to say the least. They got a perfect score afterwards too. My group was better than before, but because of bad teamwork (Sake), we only got 7. Jordi's group was still a bit of a mess, but on the bright side, they passed this time around. Instrument class, was fun, because we actually learned something. Mr John taught us this classic song (dont know the name). Its sort of easy and sounds good.

Reflection week 5

16/8/10
Today we just discussed about our group project. Despite the fact that I knew we needed to research on our project, I somehow lost track of it in my mind. So Sabrina was the only one who brought an actual piece of paper. Anyway, we then discussed about how the presentation would be. Honestly, I think the preparation time is too short, as it was due on thursday. However, I feel that we will be able to make it well. Instrument class was short as usual but we're sort of use to that by now.

19/8/10
So, today was assessment day (again). So I was generally nervous, coz it was assessment (who isn't?). As I watched the others, I sort of felt better as honestly, most weren't that good. Linden's one was the only decent one in my opinion, and we go equal scores as his team. However, we're gonna redo it on monday to get higher scores. Hopefully Ryan remembers to submit this time.

9/8/2010
Today I didnt really have anything to do. I was done with my music assessment and the day was just the people who had not performed singing their songs. Most of the songs they sang were rather nice. Even Ryan sounded sort of cool. Other people like Rama, Jessica, Ivi etc were really good at their songs. Jessica went a bit too high though. So there I was sitting on the chair, feeling sort of bored while other people sang songs, and at times repeated them (Heal The World).

12/8/2010
Today was a rather normal day. No assessments, although we made groups for them. First, Mr Herry got angry at the people who havent done their blogs. I have so nothing to worry about for me. Then we had to go to the computer lab to make blogs. Once again I didnt really have to do anything. When we got back, we announced the groups for the project. I like my group, and its not bad. It could end up being fun. Finally, we finished with a confusing finger exercise from Mr John.

Reflection week 1-3

19/7/2010
Today was our first day of music. We didnt have music for grade 8, so it felt sort of new and unfamiliar for me at first. So i met the teachers again, like Mr Herry, Mr John, Mr Sadrakh and Mr Hari. After an introduction from Mr Herry, we got to pick our instruments. Everyone was like picking their instruments with enthusiasm (except for the people who were left with instruments they didnt want). We also learnt what we had to do for the next few days and the materials we needed to bring.

22/7/2010
Today we had an audition to get the instrument that we wanted. At first, there were a bunch of people who wanted guitar, about 10 or so. But after seeing so many people that wanted it, some understandably backed down from the challenge. I auditioned sweet child o mine, but I messed up a bit. Rama auditioned you and me, which everyone loved -_-. The reason I picked guitar over violin is sort of personal, but for this year im sticking with guitar.

26/7/2010
Today we got the planning booklet. We got several questions to test us as well, and i failed most of them. I dont really remember the music stuff I learned a few years back, which contributed to that. Plus, I didnt bring complete resources because I didnt know we had to bring them yet. On the bright side, we actually learned a song with Mr John, which was I Will Fly, a song by ten2five. It sounds nice and feels fun to play.

29/7/2010
Today, Mr Herry asked us to tell him which songs we were going to sing for our pop song assessment. Most of us had not picked our songs yet (like me), but a few people did. These people include Linden, Rama, Jessica, Nino and a few others. Some people even performed. I personally think Jessica has a nice voice. But because some people didnt want to sing, we all had to sing heal the world. Some boys had to sing it in front because they werent singing at first. Then we went to instrument class and talked about songs.

2/8/2010
Today was rehearsal day for our pop songs. I had chosen the song "A Little Too Not Over You" last thursday, but wasnt quite ready to show it because I was nervous. Unfortunately and unluckily, I had the first name. It was at moments like this where I find my name annoying. So I sang the song. It wasnt that good in my opinion, because I was really nervous, but everyone thought it was. Then came other people singing and I felt they were all better than me, but I shouldnt feel so down.

5/8/2010
So, today was the real deal. Luckily, we didnt start off right away. Ms Marie (I think thats her name) made us do vocal exercises. Most of us laughed at some parts, but on the bright side it took about 30 minutes of our time. Then it was my turn. I felt a lot more confident than the last time I did it, so it went over much much better, which was good. Then we got until Nino, but we were forced to finish up.
